How to remove leaked content from Reddit
Reddit removes stolen content faster than almost anywhere, if you file correctly. The exact reporting routes, in order of speed.
Good news for once: Reddit is one of the easiest places to get stolen content removed. It is a US company with a real legal team, a proper copyright process, and an army of volunteer moderators who mostly do not want stolen content in their communities either. Filed correctly, Reddit removals often land within days, sometimes hours. Filed incorrectly, your report vanishes into the void, so the routes and their order matter.
The three routes, fastest first
- 1Message the subreddit moderators. Many "content sharing" subreddits quietly break Reddit's rules and their mods know it. A short, polite modmail ("this post contains my stolen paid content, please remove it: [links]") often works same-day, because mods would rather delete a post than have their subreddit reported.
- 2File Reddit's copyright report. The official DMCA route at reddit.com/report (choose "It infringes copyright"). This goes to Reddit's legal operations team, works whether or not the mods care, and creates a paper trail. Include the exact post and comment URLs.
- 3For intimate images, use the involuntary pornography report. Reddit bans non-consensual intimate media outright, mods or no mods, copyright or no copyright. This route is faster than DMCA and gets the uploader's account actioned too.

What to include in the copyright report
The form walks you through it, but have these ready: the exact URLs of the infringing posts (not the subreddit homepage), where the original content lives (your paid page), your contact details, and the standard good-faith and accuracy statements. One report can list many URLs, so sweep the whole subreddit for your content first rather than filing one report per post.

Reddit takedown checklist
0/6The short version
Reddit rewards the boring, procedural approach: exact links, polite modmail, official forms, repeat as needed, never engage in public. Most creators see faster results here than anywhere else, which makes Reddit a satisfying place to start your cleanup. Creator Lighthouse finds the posts and files the notices automatically if you would rather keep your evenings, but either way: quiet paperwork beats loud comments, every time.
